Consulting Services for the Detailed Engineering Design of the Atomic Junction to Ofankor via Taifa (11km) Dual Carriageway Road

Project Description:

Location of Project Road

The consultancy services were for the feasibility studies, detailed engineering studies, detailed engineering design and tender documents preparation of approximately 11km dual Carriageway road from Atomic Junction to Ofankor via Taifa Burkina. This road is a major Arterial under the jurisdiction of the Department of Urban Roads who acted as the Client’s representative. Funding for these services were from the portion of the funds allocated to the project by the partners (Messrs Agyakot Construction limited and Messrs Idreco Company Limited). The project road starts from the roundabout at the Atomic junctions on the National Route N4 (Tetteh Quarshie to New Tafo) to meet the Nsawam road on National Route N6 (Apenkwa to Brekum) at Ofankor.

The road was designed as a dual carriageway from the Atomic Roundabout to the Atomic down Roundabout with service roads at some sections. The section from the Atomic Down roundabout to the N6 was designed as a single carriageway.

The project also included the Environmental Impact Assessment and Property Impact Assessment.
