Project Description:

Location of Ridge Hospital

 

The Government of Ghana sought to replace the existing facilities of the Ghana Ridge Hospital with a new modern hospital that reflects the current aspirations of the fast developing African Country. The Ministry of Health identified this hospital as the main central healthcare facility in the city of Accra and will expand it into a comprehensive masterplan that will increase the program to 600 beds and more than 12 surgical theaters totaling 465,560 SF.

The project involved the detailed design, construction, procurement and installation of equipment of 620-bed capacity hospital.

The services provided by Transtech Consult included:

  1.  Topographic survey of the project area
  2.  Bill of quantities
  3.  Geotechnical investigation
  4. Traffic impact assessment

This project was funded by the Exim Bank of the United States of America (USA), with support from the USA Government.

The hospital formed part of Government’s social contract with Ghanaians to deliver world-class facilities to meet their aspirations and is expected to partner with the KorleBu Teaching Hospital in training more medical personnel in the country.
